cool bluegrass, hot originals
Door 7:30pm, Music 8:00pm | Purchase advance tickets: $16.50

Kathy Kallick's bluegrass and traditional country classics, as well as her compelling originals, incorporate a unique perspective and refreshing musical sensibilities. Tonight Kathy celebrates the release of a new album, A Warmer Kind of Blue (Copper Creek), backed by her red-hot band. The distinctive, powerful playing of Tom Bekeny on mandolin and fiddle, Avram Siegel on banjo, and Amy Stenberg on bass sparkles and drives, brilliantly showcasing Kathy's incandescent vocals. Expect plenty of great tunes from the new CD, with all the familiar hallmarks of Kathy's music -- passion and humor, literate and lyrical storytelling, a satisfyingly deep exploration of human nature, and refreshing originality -- while incorporating a variety of musical influences.
